Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seeks its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things endures all things. Love never fails.

I Corinthians 13:4-8

On this day after Valentine’s Day, I thought it a good idea to look closely at the true definition of Love. As you read through this verse and think of how you show love to others do you see area’s in which maybe you could do better? We all fall short, but with God’s help we can show true love to those around us. Let that be our prayer today, that we show true love, to all of those that we come in contact with.

Now it is your turn!

What Bible verse is blessing you today?

  1. What a great encouragement post for today! The verse that has been on my heart the last couple of days is from I John 3:1 “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” NIV I like to just think on how He has “lavished” His love on me!

  2. I love those verses a lot, but they are SO hard for me. Sometimes, it is very hard for this introverted girl to love people as God desires that we do. I’m a constant work in progress! LOL!

  3. I memorized this Scripture for Valentine’s Day yesterday after writing a guest blog post on love. “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13 ESV

  4. My favorite chapter in the entire bible! My daughter even got me a necklace when she went to summer camp years ago referencing this chapter. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face 😄
