Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways, “says the Lord.”

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are My ways higher than your ways,
and My thoughts higher than your thoughts.”

Isaiah 55: 8 & 9

It isn’t always easy to understand why certain things happen. But this verse gives me peace. It is encouraging to know that God has a plan, and his plans are always for our good!

Now it is your turn!

What Bible verse is blessing you today?

  1. Good verse. Mine is Psalm 27:13-14
    “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
    Wait on the Lord; be of good courage,
    And He shall strengthen your heart;
    Wait, I say, on the Lord.”

  2. Love these verses. They remind me of the part when Samuel is trying to pick the new king to replace Saul. He goes to Jesse’s house and sees with human eyes what he thinks are excellent candidates, but God tells him, “No,” on all counts. Go find the shepherd boy…Samuel is not really impressed but does what God directs. Then God tells Samuel that He doesn’t look at us as we humans look at us. He looks at the heart. God’s thoughts, what He sees, what He thinks…they don’t follow our more shallow human tendencies because God is always looking at the BIG picture. It is definitely comforting to know that God is in total control!

  3. Very timely! It is comforting to know that God is in control even when we don’t understand.

  4. Such a good portion of scripture. It’s sometimes difficult for us to remember that God’s way is better than ours, it it truly is! Happy Thursday my friend 🙂
