Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication,
with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your heart and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

At it’s most basic, prayer is talking to God. You don’t need big flashy, splashy prayers, written out ahead of time and checked for grammar. Just tell God what is on your heart.

Paul tells us in Romans 8:26 “For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

Take time today, to give the burden on your heart to God. When you find those pesky burdens have somehow made their way back into your hands, just give them back again, until they stay with God.

Rest in the knowledge that God will give you peace in return.

Now it is your turn!

What Bible verse is blessing you today?

  1. “With thanksgiving” always stands out to me! We deserved to die on that cross, but Jesus chose to die for us, and I will be forever grateful, even beyond words that I can express! This verse has spoken to me all morning: ““How great are His signs! and how mighty are His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation.” ~ Daniel 4:3 How mighty are His wonders – what He has done!! Thank you for today’s inspiration!

  2. Wonderful encouragement! Philippians 4 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible, because I find its instruction so relevant to my life. God bless!
