Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

For we are God’s masterpiece.
He has created us anew in Christ Jesus,
so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.

Ephesians 2:10

Last week we looked at the two verses before this. We learned that salvation is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for good things we have done. We are sinners, there is nothing inherently good in us. The good comes from God, not us.

Now, one of my favorite verses. We are God’s masterpiece! God took us from where we were, sitting in the filth of our sin, and He has remade us anew in Jesus, so we can do the good things that He planned for us.

He could have left us in our sin. He could have said, “Oh that Trisha, she messed up one to many times, she is too filthy, now she’s on her own.”  I am so thankful, that even though I stink with my sin, God still loves me. He remade me in Jesus. So that one day when I stand before the throne of God, He won’t see my sin, He will only see Jesus.

I am not good. But Jesus is good and that is good enough for me!

Now it is your turn!

What Bible verse is blessing you today?

  1. What joy to know that “Jesus is good, and that is enough for me”! This morning I loved reading Romans 9:16: “So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy.” I am so very thankful for His mercy!

  2. That is just great! A free gift indeed! Thanks. God did it All! Only He is perfect so He CAN do it all! Praise God, I don’t have to do anything to earn my Salvation . Just trust in Him.
    Thanks for the encouragement. Blessings!
