Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.
I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!
Today’s Thursday Encouragement:
“He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly, To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?
Micah 6:8
Did you wake up this morning wondering what it is that God is calling you to do? The verse in Micah 6:8 outlines it well. A short four letter word. We are called to love.
Love requires freedom. The freedom to give love and the freedom to receive love.
Love is from God. (1 John 4:8)
God’s Love is everlasting, His love endures forever. (Jeremiah 31:3)
God loves all people! There isn’t anyone God loves more or less than another. (Romans 5:8)
People will see God in us, when they see how we love (John 13:35)
My daily prayer is that God will fill me with His perfect love, so that it will spill over and flow to everyone that He brings along my daily path. That other’s will see God’s love for them through me. Because I can’t do it on my own.
Now it is your turn!
What Bible verse is blessing you today?

Thank you for this wonderful encouragement! I’m praying in agreement with your prayer that we will shine Jesus’ love, and make others wonder what we’ve got, what makes us different. I have been dwelling on these verses from Psalm 103 this morning: “Bless the Lord, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits.” Have a wonderful day!

I love this, Trisha. It is a great reminder.
I struggle with love sometimes, I will admit. People can make it a little difficult to love them, but also I can make it a little difficult to love me. I can be prickly. I think this important factor in love is putting God first. I know in the times when God is first on my mind, my day goes smoother and love is easier to give!

I love Micah 6:8! It provides such a clear and simple to understand purpose for our lives: do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God. Everything we say and do should fall in one (or more) of these three categories. And if we do so then, like you said, those around us will see Christ’s loving character reflected in us. Beautiful! God bless!

Love is something I’m really good at with certain people, and bad at with others. Mainly people I dislike. But God calls us to love everyone…..even the people who hurt us. Love this post today. Something I needed to hear!
