Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

I will praise the name of
God with a song,
And will magnify Him
with thanksgiving.

Psalms 69:30

We don’t often think about singing and praising God when we are walking through trials. However, that is just what Paul and Silas did. (read Acts 16:25-34) They were in chains in a dank, dark, and I’m fairly sure cold prison cell. They weren’t bemoaning their fate, nor were they complaining. They were singing praises to God! Wow! Talk about being a witness! If you took time to read you will notice that there was an earthquake, the chains fell off, the doors were opened, but they didn’t leave. They stayed and witnessed to the guard and he in turn became a follower of Christ!

Tomorrow morning I go in for surgery to remove a small tumor in my breast. If you remember from my earlier post, the original biopsy results were benign, but showed hyper-cells. They will preform a second pathology test on the entire tumor, and I should have the results late next week. I am praying that it is still benign!

Waiting hasn’t been easy. However, God has been walking this path with me, teaching me to trust and to rejoice in Him. It has been a time of trial and one of growth. But most importantly, a time when I’ve grown closer to God!

I pray that what ever trial you may be facing that you remember that you aren’t alone. God is with you! Pray, trust and praise the name of God with a song!

Now it is your turn!

What Bible verse is blessing you today?

  1. Praying for you! This is from my morning reading from Jeremiah 6:16 “Thus says the LORD, “Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; And you will find rest for your souls”.

  2. Praying for your surgery and that the pathology results show only the best of news. *hug* I used to sing a lot, but then got tired and worn out. (Having two babies under two years old is rough!) I’m very encouraged by your post today to sing more often, especially when I am tired and worn out. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Jacquelyn!! ❤️
I used to sing to my son a lot when he was a baby. Now he sings with me. Music has always been important to me. I have fond memories singing with my Grandma, my mom, and my aunts! Every Friday evening we’d gather around the piano and sing hymns.
Having little ones is difficult!!! They need so very much right now!! You will find the right balance. Give yourself time to adjust! (((Hugs)))

    1. Hi Carrie!! Thank you so very much for your prayers!! The surgery went as expected. The doctor told my husband that the tumor didn’t appear cancerous, but they would still send it to pathology for testing. Aside from a headache and minor pain at the incision, I’m doing good. Tired, but good.
