Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

I have set the Lord always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
Psalms 16:8

Another version of this same text from the NIV says:
“I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I shall not be shaken”

I’ll admit it, I was shaken early this week. I was looking at the new school year, and the super busy, super crazy schedule, and I was overwhelmed, thinking how in the world will I get all this done?!

Then that small voice whispered to my heart, and I realized that I had taken my eyes off of what really matters. I wasn’t giving it to God, I was trying to do it all myself.

May you remember that in His presence is fullness of joy! Give your burdens to God, keep your eyes on Him.

Now it is your turn!

What Bible verse is blessing you today?

  1. Thank you for this encouraging post.
    Things seem to be running amok here. Hubby’s eye surgery was moved up by 2 weeks, we are 6 days post surgery, I’m all in charts and keeping track of medicines and eye drops every 2-4 hours. Trying to do everything myself, I needed this reminder.

  2. Quite often I find myself trying to figure out everything on my own instead of looking to the Lord for help! What a great reminder to never lose focus on God. He will sort it all out for us!!

  3. Love that verse. Thank you for sharing. I had one dropped in my lap from a very strange place. “Be still and know that I am God.” I was trying to get it all done by myself and it was a good reminder to slow down.

  4. So, you wrote this post especially for me, right Trisha? Lol!!! I, too, am struggling with this right now. I got a BIG new project at school and I’m overwhelmed. But, I am trying really hard to give it to God every day. I’ve failed a little a couple of times, but once I realize what I’m doing…taking it all on myself… I ask God for forgiveness and help. Thank you for this post today!!! I needed this. 😊🧡

  5. Umm… All I could do was laugh, because this is exactly me. I have finally learned for this season of overwhelming, to look at each day, one at a time with my eyes focused on the Lord. Not that I’m perfect at it, but learning.
