Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication,
with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God,
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)

This week I dropped my son off at school for the very first time. His first 6 years of school have been homeschool. We are in uncharted waters (for us). The excitement is running high and yes a bit of anxiousness too.

We pulled up to the school, I parked the car and then we had a prayer together for his day and this new experience. I felt at peace and less anxious. We walked in together and found his desk. I took another picture (he said, “Mom” in that tone that said, no more photos please). So I gave him one last hug and walked away knowing that God is always with him!

Life is full of change. Of new experiences. Some change is exciting, some frightening. But whatever change you are facing I’d like to take this moment to remind you that if we invite God into our daily life, our changes, and emotions. He will walk right beside us and give us peace. May you always remember to invite God to walk with you daily!

Now it is your turn!

  1. Amen! We cannot forget that God is with us always.
And, fantastic job, Trisha. I am encouraged by how easy it was for you to walk away knowing God has your son. My daughter started 2nd grade this year, and I still get a little nervous. I know God is with her, but I still struggle with the leaving part. She’s my baby! LOL!

    1. I don’t know about easy. My mind flashed back to when I had to leave him with my MIL when he was just 6 weeks old (I’d cried then). I felt my throat tightened, and then I reminded myself that God is with him. That God loves my son even more than I do and that he’d be just fine.

      1. I cried on Bella’s first day of kindergarten. It really popped my brain that my tiny 5 year old would be left with a stranger. Every single day, though, I pray for God’s protection over her. He’s faithful!!! ❤

  2. That first day of school is always so tough on moms. I think the kids find their niche and comfort zone easier than moms that first day. Hope he is doing well.
