Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

May the God of hope fill you with all
joy and peace as you trust in Him,
so that you may overflow with hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13

This has been a rough week. I’ve felt that I give and give and give and then give some more, to the point where I feel empty of strength to give another drop. My prayer last evening as I finished my evening devotion, was “fill my cup Lord, for I feel empty.” I have struggled to find joy. To be honest, I wasn’t even going to write a post today, because I had nothing to give.

But then, this morning when I picked up my Bible and read my devotions, this verse jumped out at me. A promise from God that He will fill us with joy and peace that we will overflow with hope. Just as I had been praying!

I’ll be honest, I still feel tired. I still don’t feel full. But I trust that God is using this to help me turn to Him more, and using this to gently help me share the struggle with others. Because it is in pressing together as a community that we can lift each other up and become a blessing to others.

Now it is your turn!

What Bible verse is blessing you today?

  1. Amen, Trisha! It’s a daily struggle sometimes, but the hard days teach us to rely on God! I was reading in Ezekiel this morning and over and over the people faced hardships and the paragraph ended with the phrase: “That they may know that I am the Lord.” May you be strengthened with each passing day!

  2. I’m so sorry you’re feeling depleted. I will say an extra prayer for you.

I don’t know what’s going on, but lately everything is so hard. It’s like I’m slugging through each day putting out fires all around me. Nothing goes smoothly, plans seem to all fail, and everyone is on edge. Lots of attacks too! 🤔😥🤷‍♀️
