His Encouragement: week #8

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,
I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

Revelation 3:20 (NIV)

When I was little there was this beautiful picture of Jesus standing outside a stone building with a wooden door knocking. I loved looking at that picture and imagining opening the door and giving Jesus a big hug!

Jesus wants to be a part of your daily life. He won’t force Himself into your heart, but He will continue to seek you. Won’t you open the door and let Him in today?

Now it is your turn!

His Encouragement: week #7

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel:

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name;
you are Mine.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
nor shall the flame scorch you.

Indeed before the day was, I am He:
And there is no one who can deliver out of My Hand:
I work, and who will reverse it?

Isaiah 43:1-2 & 13

You are a precious child of God. No one can take you out of God’s hand.

Maybe you have strayed, maybe you feel that you have gone too far. My dear friend, that is the lie that the devil whispers. Don’t listen to the lie!

Jesus will leave the other 99 to come after His one lost lamb. Jesus wants you in His Kindom!

Maybe it is a family member or friend that has strayed. You see them hurting, and suffering, and when you talk to them about God, they shut down. Don’t stop praying for them!

God hears, He sees! God loves you, He loves the one lost sheep. He has bankrupted heaven, given His only Son so that none will be lost.

His Encouragement: week #6

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.

Psalms 86:5

I just love this verse because it is a beautiful picture of God. “He is good and ready to forgive”.

Many see God as an angry judge. They think of the God who sent a great flood that destroyed the entire earth, the God that destroyed a city with fire from Heaven, drowned a Pharaoh and his army beneath the red sea. Yes, God did those things as well.

But most of all, God desires to have you and me in His family. He wants a relationship with us. He wants to give forgiveness. We need only come to Him and ask.

Whatever it is that is holding you back, God already knows. He’s just waiting for you to give it to Him so He can wash you whiter than snow (Isaiah 1:18).

His Encouragement: week 5

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

If that is the case, our God whom we serve
is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace,
and He will deliver us from your hand, O king.

But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we
do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the
gold image which you have set up.

Daniel 3:17-18

As Christians and followers of Christ, we are called to surrender. To “go all-in”, hold nothing back. We are called to trust God with everything. Even if He doesn’t save us in our crisis.

It isn’t easy to let go and give up control. But when we do, we surrender and give the outcome to God we allow God to take over and to make the impossible the ignition for incredible!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

“My grace is sufficient for you,
for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 12:9

It is only when we let go and give everything to God that we can see Him working in our lives. May we fall to our knees today, and give ALL our burdens to Him!

His Encouragement: Biblical Inspiration – week 3

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free,
there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed,
and heirs according to the promise.

Galatians 3:26-29

God loves each of us equally. Often, we try to put things into categories, and neat boxes. All too often this organization stifles our ability to love those in different categories from ourselves. If we are honest sometimes we do this to ourselves too.

We are called to love each other. Not just those that are like us.

His Encouragement: Biblical Inspiration for your Thursday – week 2

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;
Let them ever shout for joy, because you defend them;
Let those also who love Your name be joyful in You.

Psalms 5:11

As I was reading my morning devotions the other day, this verse seemed to leap off the page. I just knew that I needed to share it with you!

This year started out rough for me. I came down with the stomach flu on the eve of New Year, and then on New Year day our oven/stove decided to have little sparks and smoke to welcome in the new year. It no longer works, for those not sure.

We have started the process of searching for a new one. In the meantime, I’ve become quite creative with meals ideas. I also discovered that when trying to boil water on a hot plate you must wait longer.

Even though this surprised me, it didn’t surprise God. While this season of not having a stove is inconvenient. I look forward to seeing how God will bless.

His Encouragement #51

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me,
to give to every one according to his work.

I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the Beginning and the End,
the First and the Last.

Revelation 22:12 & 13

Earlier this month I attended a Christmas party. One of the hosts gave a short worship talk. He shared a Bible verse about Jesus coming to this earth as a baby and how no one was ready for His coming. The birth of Jesus had been foretold in prophesy. But yet, no one was ready. His parents couldn’t even find a room. Everywhere they went, no room was found. The host challenged us to find room in our hearts for Jesus. To make time to spend with Him daily, and to be ready for when Jesus comes again!

So as we quickly approach the end of 2018 my questions for you (which you can just answer in your own heart) is this:

“Would you be ready to meet Him with rejoicing if Jesus came tomorrow?”

Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. We can look eagerly toward the future, because He is our Future!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

“For unto us a child is born, Unto us a child is given;
and the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Price of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6

Jesus come to this sin filled world, a perfect baby, without sin. Jesus is the ultimate, perfect gift!

We did nothing to deserve the gift of Jesus. We can never do enough to earn the gift of Jesus.

Unlike Santa Clause, God doesn’t give lumps of coal to “naughty children”.

I’m so very thankful that God didn’t ask us to clean up our sin, before He sent His only Son, as a perfect gift to save us.

Thank you, Father for the ultimate, perfect gift of Jesus!

As you take a quiet moment to think about this verse and the perfect gift we’ve all been given, a gift that we should never take for granted, I encourage you to enjoy this song.

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

May the God of HOPE fill you with all joy and peace
as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with HOPE
by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13

The great Advent hope provides a correct perspective for life and a true identity as well as encourages and brings lasting joy.

I pray that this Christmas season you and your family will find time to enjoy the joy of salvation and have the mind of Jesus, the model of humility.
