His Encouragement: week #15

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

For where your treasure is,
there your heart will be also.

Luke 12:34

I wanted to share a little something to think about as we go into the Easter weekend.  Are you putting up treasure here on earth?  Or are you putting up treasure in heaven?

Do you hide away your resources, your knowledge, and your talents?  Or are you sharing what you have,, and what you know with others?

Now it is your turn!

What Bible verse is blessing you today?

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;
Let the sea roar, and all its fullness;
Let the fields be joyful, and all that is in it.
Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the Lord.
For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth.
He shall judge the world with righteousness,
And the peoples with His truth.

Psalms 96:11-13

All the earth gives praises to God. To God be the glory! May we all join in the chorus and give Him praise! Each day we have a choice of how we are going to meet the day. Do we enter the day with joyfulness and praise, or grumbling and complaining?

With God’s help may I always choose to praise Him first. Even when the way is dark, even when I don’t understand. To God be the glory!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

If I take the wings of the morning,
and dwel in the uttermost parts of the sea,

Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.

Psalms 139: 9-10

Isn’t it comforting to know that where ever we go, God is with us?! When I start to feel alone, all I need to do is stop and pray. God is always there! What a comfort! What a blessing!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you;
not as the world gives do I give to you.
Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid.

John 14:27

I missed sharing a Bible verse with you last week. I had come down with Influenza-A. Oh, the flu is a nasty bug. It sure wiped me out. I was down for the count. A week later and I’m starting to feel more like myself.

Today, I thought I’d share with you about peace. God wants us to have peace. To rest completely in Him. No worry, no concern. Just complete trust in His perfect plan for our lives.

Whatever burdens you are carrying. Take them to Jesus. Lay them down at His feet. He will give you rest.

For the mountains shall depart
And the hills be removed,
But My kindness shall not depart from you,

Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written

Psalm 139: 16-17

When the storms of life come, the wicked are whirled away,
but the Godly have a lasting foundation.

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,
I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

Revelation 3:20 (NIV)

When I was little there was this beautiful picture of Jesus standing outside a stone building with a wooden door knocking. I loved looking at that picture and imagining opening the door and giving Jesus a big hug!

Jesus wants to be a part of your daily life. He won’t force Himself into your heart, but He will continue to seek you. Won’t you open the door and let Him in today?

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel:

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name;
you are Mine.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
nor shall the flame scorch you.

Indeed before the day was, I am He:
And there is no one who can deliver out of My Hand:
I work, and who will reverse it?

Isaiah 43:1-2 & 13

You are a precious child of God. No one can take you out of God’s hand.

Maybe you have strayed, maybe you feel that you have gone too far. My dear friend, that is the lie that the devil whispers. Don’t listen to the lie!

Jesus will leave the other 99 to come after His one lost lamb. Jesus wants you in His Kindom!

Maybe it is a family member or friend that has strayed. You see them hurting, and suffering, and when you talk to them about God, they shut down. Don’t stop praying for them!

God hears, He sees! God loves you, He loves the one lost sheep. He has bankrupted heaven, given His only Son so that none will be lost.

His Encouragement: week #6

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.

Psalms 86:5

I just love this verse because it is a beautiful picture of God. “He is good and ready to forgive”.

Many see God as an angry judge. They think of the God who sent a great flood that destroyed the entire earth, the God that destroyed a city with fire from Heaven, drowned a Pharaoh and his army beneath the red sea. Yes, God did those things as well.

But most of all, God desires to have you and me in His family. He wants a relationship with us. He wants to give forgiveness. We need only come to Him and ask.

Whatever it is that is holding you back, God already knows. He’s just waiting for you to give it to Him so He can wash you whiter than snow (Isaiah 1:18).
