His Encouragement: Letting go

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless.

“Not by might nor by power,
but by My Spirit,”
says the Lord of hosts.

Zachariah 4:6

This has been an exceptionally difficult week for me. This morning when I opened up my Bible reading plan and read this verse, I felt peace wash over me. Let go and let God.

I don’t have the answers. But I do know that God has this ALL in His hands. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and. hope” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Now it is your turn!

His Encouragement: Understanding

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are My ways higher than your ways
and My thoughts than your thoughts”

Isaiah 55: 8 & 9

We may not always understand why things happen. But we can be at peace knowing that no matter what happens, that God knows the end from the beginning and He is walking with us every step of the way. (Isaiah 43:2)

“For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known” (1 Corinthians 13:12)

His Encouragement: Nothing can separate

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless.

For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels
nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things
to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in
Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8: 38 & 39

In this time when separation is required of each of us for the safety of all of us, it is easy to feel profound loss, sadness, and loneliness. For some their emotional cup requires solitude for replenishing. For others, their emotional cup requires social engagement.

For those feeling empty due to the isolation, I want to take this moment to remind you that you are never truly alone. God is always with us. Sometimes we just get so busy in the daily tasks that we don’t take the time to seek Him and spend time with Him. It’s hard to hear His voice if you don’t know what it sounds like. Spending time with God daily and building that relationship is essential.

My encouragement for you today is two-fold:
One, a reminder that you are never alone. God is with you, He loves you, and nothing can separate you from Him.
Two, take this time to reconnect with God. Spend time reading His word. Spend time listening and or singing hymns and praise songs. Spend time in prayer!

If you need to talk to a person, reach out to family or a friend! You can do Bible study together via facetime, skype, or zoom. You don’t have to wait for a church service to worship God! I have discovered that my heart is happiest when I’m singing praises to God. Give it a try!

Please feel free to share with me ways that you are staying connected with others and with God.

His Encouragement: Heart

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless.

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or
at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the
Lord does not see as a man sees; for a man looks at the
outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

1 Samuel 16: 7

Are you feeling like you don’t quite measure up? Maybe you made a mistake at school or at work, and others noticed and pointed out your shortcomings. Words hurt. No matter how much the old manta “stick and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me”; may dance around in our heads, the truth is, words do hurt and often they leave a lasting scar on our memories.

Today, remember that God looks at the heart. You are His precious child. You are loved!

Be strong and be of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them;
for the Lord your God, he is the One who goes with you.
He will not leave you nor forsake you.

Deuteronomy 31: 6

No matter what you are going through this week, remember that God is with you! Lean on Him and He will hide you under his wings (Psalms 91:4).

His Encouragement: Praise

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Oh, that man would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,
and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

For He satisfies the longing soul,
and fills the hungry soul with goodness.

Psalms 107: 8 & 9

What is the longing of your soul today?  Have you spent time praising the Lord? Often when we are desperate for answers, we forget to stop thinking about how awful we feel. I’m guilty of this myself. It is so easy to get wrapped up in what’s going on around me, that I forget to stop and just praise God for His goodness and what He has already done!
But when I do stop and praise, oh the blessings that rain down! It may not be what I asked for, but friends, its always just what I need!

His Encouragement: Love

Romans 8: 38-39

I really enjoy the entire chapter of Romans 8, but today these two verses jumped out at me and I wanted to share them with you. No matter what dark valley you are walking through, remember that nothing can separate you from the love of God!

His Encouragement: Sing a new song

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Sing to Him a new song;
play skillfully, and shout for joy.
For the word of the Lord is right and true;
He is faithful in all He does.
The Lord loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of His unfailing love.

Psalms 33:3-5 (NIV)

Even when I’m tired, I will praise the Lord!  Today, I’m tired. But I find renewal for my spirit when I stop thinking about my to-do-list and turn my focus on God. When I sing praises to God, I find my empty spaces filled up.

God is faithful. What He says, He will do!

His Encouragement: Peace in the storm

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

I love You, Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer;
My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield
and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Psalms 18: 1-2 (NIV)

This verse reminds me of several things:

  1. First, God is my strength. I can do nothing without Him.
  2. Second, God is my refuge, my stronghold, my safe place. I am protected under His wings.
  3. Third, God is my salvation, my redeemer. Without Him, I am eternally lost.

I’m sure you have noticed that this world is in upheaval. Time is short. It is easy to look at the news and what is going on and be a little scared. But, when I take time to stop, and spend time with God, reading His word, I find peace in the midst of the storm.

Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!

Psalms 27:14

I don’t know what you are struggling with today, but I’d like to encourage you that no matter what it is, give it to God. If you feel the burden returning, pray and pray again. Keep waiting and praying and God will strengthen your heart!
