His Encouragement: Kindness

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless.

If it is possible, as much as depends on you,
live peaceably with all men.
Romans 12:18

We can’t protect ourselves from getting hurt by others, but we can control our response. Demonstrating kindness to our adversaries reminds us of our Heavenly Father’s kindness. We deserve death and separation from God, but He offers us eternal life through Jesus. Our Savior sacrificed himself for all humanity, providing a way for enemies to become allies.

His Encouragement: Blessing Others

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

For this is the message that you heard from the beginning,
that we should love one another

My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue,
but in deed and in truth.

1 John 3: 11 & 18

We can bless other’s though our words and actions. Words of affirmation, acts of kindness and sometimes giving gifts. It can be something small, like dusting the snow off the car parked next to yours, or checking in on an elderly neighbor. Maybe just smiling at a stranger you pass in the grocery store. We may never know how far our little drop of kindness goes!

I’ve long heard “You will know them by their fruits.” But have you thought about what fruits you display to others? Are we loving and kind to others? Are we sharing Jesus with each other daily? Let’s strive today, and every day to be more like Jesus and spread love everywhere we go!

When anxiety was great within me,
Your consolation brought me joy.
Psalms 94:19

If you are anything like me, you have experienced both peaceful days and days of high stress and anxiety over the past couple of weeks. We all face the great abyss of the unknown. Normal points on the horizon have disappeared, and we feel lost in a raging sea of darkness. But dear friends, there is light if we just look up. Keeping our eyes on the  Savior will bring us peace.

Before I go, I wanted to share with you a new song from JJ Heller (click here). I hope you enjoy!

His Encouragement: week # 16

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith,
having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience
and our bodies washed with pure water

Hebrews 10:22

And you will seek Me and find Me,
when you search for Me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:13

What an amazing God we serve! God seeks our hearts. He desires to have a relationship with us. He comes to find us, and to draw us near, even when we don’t know or understand. We love because He first loved us!

Are we making room in our hearts, in our lives for Him?  Or are we filling up all the empty space with our own frivolous pursuits?

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written
in your book before one of them came to be.

How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!

Psalm 139: 16-17

His Encouragement: Biblical Inspiration for your Thursday – week 2

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;
Let them ever shout for joy, because you defend them;
Let those also who love Your name be joyful in You.

Psalms 5:11

As I was reading my morning devotions the other day, this verse seemed to leap off the page. I just knew that I needed to share it with you!

This year started out rough for me. I came down with the stomach flu on the eve of New Year, and then on New Year day our oven/stove decided to have little sparks and smoke to welcome in the new year. It no longer works, for those not sure.

We have started the process of searching for a new one. In the meantime, I’ve become quite creative with meals ideas. I also discovered that when trying to boil water on a hot plate you must wait longer.

Even though this surprised me, it didn’t surprise God. While this season of not having a stove is inconvenient. I look forward to seeing how God will bless.
