Her Hidden Hope by Jill Lynn

About the book:

Asking for forgiveness is the hardest part…

She once trusted him with her heart…

but will she ever trust him with the truth?

With only two weeks to renovate her family’s Colorado B and B, struggling single mom Addie Ricci can’t turn away help. Especially not when it’s her handsome high school sweetheart, Evan Hawke, who’s offering to pitch in. As they repair the B and B, Addie and Evan also begin rebuilding their relationship…until a secret from their past threatens to bring it all crashing down.

  Her Hidden Hope

My Thoughts:

I really enjoyed escaping into this story each evening! These characters quickly warmed my heart and I enjoyed getting to know them. I felt like I experienced the events right along side Addie and Evan. From the sweet rediscovery of a tender love story that began when Addie and Evan were teenagers and now as adults with more history and a perspective the love that grows is even deeper and more meaningful.

There are moments that gripped my heart and had me reaching for the tissues. But there were even more moments that had me smiling in contentment and laughing out loud at the fun antics of Sawyer & Belay.

When I started the book, I didn’t realize that this is the fourth book in the series. However, even without first reading the other books, I didn’t once feel lost. I do however want to go back and read the other stories from characters that I met in this story! I recommend this story and look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

(I receive complimentary books from publishers, publicists, and/or authors, including Netgalley. I am not required to write positive reviews. The opinions I have expressed are my own.)

  Her Hidden Hope

A Season to Dance by Patricia Beal

Ballerina Ana Brassfield has her path to the stage of the Met in New York and her future with fiancé Peter Engberg all figured out—until her first love, renowned German dancer Claus Gert, shows up in Georgia to dance with her and win her back. Claus kisses her after a rehearsal, a kiss Peter witnesses from the darkened audience. Convinced a kiss between Claus and Ana is more than a one-time mistake, Peter breaks off his engagement with Ana. Rejected by Peter, and knowing Claus is dancing at the Met soon, Ana decides to repave her path to her dream. With her 2002 Thunderbird and Baryshnikov, an old dog crippled by arthritis, she moves to Germany to be with Claus. But the ghost of his late wife, Ana’s own memories of Peter, and the pressure of earning a spot in a large ballet company prove to be a high price for a shot at success.

My Thoughts:

The first thing that caught my attention was this beautiful cover! As loyal followers may note I don’t normally pick up many contemporary stories, however, I thought it would be fun to step out of my normal and delve into something completely unknown. So, I accepted a blind reader challenge from Just Read Tours. I didn’t know what book I’d be receiving, thus the blind challenge. The book arrived wrapped in paper, and that kept the mystery just a little longer!

I enjoyed reading the story. The characters are unique and held my attention. There were just enough unexpected twists that kept me turning pages to find out what would happen next. I enjoyed learning about the ballet and gained a new appreciation for what the ballerina’s go through in preparing for a show.

Had it not been for the fact that this book was chosen for me, I may have not picked it up and that would have been sad indeed. The only thing I would have liked to have seen more of in this story is a stronger Christian theme.  There are several adult situations throughout the book so this isn’t one that I would personally recommend to younger readers.

(I received a complimentary copy of this book through Just Read Tours for a Blind Read Challenge. Thoughts and opinions are my own.)

A Season to Dance

Chasing Someday (Home In You #4) by Crystal Walton

A country boy looking to win his best friend’s heart. A waitress afraid of giving hers away. And one crazy, impromptu dating plan that’s about to change everything.

Ex-model Livy Hensley has exactly three talents: making coffee, landing herself in the most awkward moments known to man, and failing miserably at relationships. But when the sweetest southern boy on the planet offers to be your dating coach, who could say no? Between struggling to open a café and trying to atone for a consequence of her past, Livy can use all the help she can get. Besides, what could possibly go wrong on a few practice dates with your best friend?

Chase Thompson’s no stranger to hard work. If that’s what it takes to prove to Livy they should be together, then he’s all in. He can handle pretending he’s not hopelessly in love with her. Sort of. Almost. Okay, nowhere close. But with a conflicting solution to his family’s greatest trial on the line, the stakes of keeping his dating coach plan from backfiring have never been higher.

Up against the countdown of choices, Chase and Livy must find the courage to risk what they fear most for the someday they’ve always hoped for.

My Thoughts:

This story packs lots of emotion and captured my heart right from the start. I couldn’t put it down, because I felt invested in the lives of the characters. I just had to know what would happen next.

Livy and Chase are friends, best-friends if you were to ask Livy. Livy see’s Chase as her rock, a solid presence and a stable person that she can depend on. But she’s holding back her deepest secret for fear of what Chase would say. Will Livy find the courage to trust Chase with her past and allow a deeper relationship to grow?

Chase is such a patient, hunky-hero. From the moment he first met Livy he fell in love, yet found himself firmly in the “friend-zone”.  In a effort to get closer to Livy, Chase suggests taking Livy on “practice dates”. Chase’s cowboy charm and gentle perseverance is sure to win hearts!

This book could easily be read as a stand alone, however I’m sure you won’t want to miss out on the other delightful stories in this series.

(I receive complimentary books for review from publishers, publicists, and/or authors, including Netgalley. I am not required to write positive reviews. The opinions I have expressed are my own.)
