His Encouragement: Love

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless.

I’ve long heard “You will know them by their fruits.” But have you thought about what fruits you display to others? Are we loving and kind to others? Are we sharing Jesus with each other daily? Let’s strive today, and every day to be more like Jesus and spread love everywhere we go!

Now it is your turn!

What Bible verse is blessing you today?

His Encouragement: #49

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

In this the love of God was manifested toward us,
that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world,
that we might live through Him.

In this is love, not that we loved God,
but that He loved us and sent His Son
to be the propitation for our sins.

1 John 4: 9 & 10

The greatest gift is love. God poured out His love for us through Jesus Christ. As children of God we should in turn, pour out God’s love to others so that they may come to know Him! “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another” (1 John 4:11)
“Let us not love in word, but in deed and in truth” (1 John 3:18)

His Encouragement: #40

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

This week I have been helping my son learn his memory verse. Aside from reading it every evening, and reciting it together, I thought it would be fun to make a few Bible verse images to give him a picture visual with the verse. When it came time for me to write this post, this verse was the first one that popped into my head.

When you think of love, what first comes to mind?
Do you think of God, your family? Or maybe you think of something you love to do? Bike Riding, Hiking, Reading? Possibly you think of a food you love to eat?

We use the word “Love” so much, for so many things, that it can easily lose its importance.

Let’s take moment and look at the next several verses in 1 John 4:

“He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” (vs. 8)

“In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.” (vs. 9)

“In this is love, not that we love God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” (vs. 10)

“Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” (vs. 11)

Wow! There is a lot to unpack there. Verse 8 tells us the God is love. Then it goes on to describe His love in verse 9 by telling us that his love was acted out toward us by God giving His only Son so that we [sinners] might live. And if that wasn’t enough, it goes on to remind us in verse 10 that God did this not because we loved Him, not because we asked this of Him, not even because we did something to deserve His favor, but because He is love. Then in verse 11, we are reminded that we should also share that love that God gives us, to others. Not just those we care about, or those that are nice to us, not even to only those who deserve it. We are called to love everyone. That isn’t always easy, but remember, you don’t have to do it alone.

Ask God to help you love those that He loves!

His Encouragement: Week #20

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

“He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly, To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?
Micah 6:8

Did you wake up this morning wondering what it is that God is calling you to do? The verse in Micah 6:8 outlines it well. A short four letter word. We are called to love.

Love requires freedom. The freedom to give love and the freedom to receive love.

Love is from God. (1 John 4:8)
God’s Love is everlasting, His love endures forever. (Jeremiah 31:3)

God loves all people! There isn’t anyone God loves more or less than another. (Romans 5:8)

People will see God in us, when they see how we love (John 13:35)

My daily prayer is that God will fill me with His perfect love, so that it will spill over and flow to everyone that He brings along my daily path. That other’s will see God’s love for them through me. Because I can’t do it on my own.

His Encouragement: Biblical Inspiration for your Thursday

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seeks its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things endures all things. Love never fails.

I Corinthians 13:4-8

On this day after Valentine’s Day, I thought it a good idea to look closely at the true definition of Love. As you read through this verse and think of how you show love to others do you see area’s in which maybe you could do better? We all fall short, but with God’s help we can show true love to those around us. Let that be our prayer today, that we show true love, to all of those that we come in contact with.
