Hereafter (The Lost Princesses #3) by Jody Hedlund

The third lost princess. The final key to the treasure. And a battle for the throne.

Synopsis:

Growing up deep in the forest as a poor charcoal burner’s daughter, Emmeline has always known her identity as a princess of Mercia, and she lives in fear of being caught and killed. When her adopted father returns from town with news regarding the imminence of war, Emmeline has no wish to join the rebellion against King Ethelwulf.

Prince Ethelrex, the strongest warrior in the land, has done everything he can to prove his loyalty to his father, including searching for the last lost princess. When Ethelrex finally captures Emmeline, the king commands his son to marry the princess in order to win the support of the people and undermine the rebellion.

Forced into marriage, Emmeline has one goal—to escape. But Ethelrex takes his marriage vows seriously, including his promise to love and cherish his wife, and has no intention of letting Emmeline get away. As the battle for the throne rages, will the prince be able to win the battle for Emmeline’s heart?

My Thoughts:

I stayed up way too late reading this book, and it was worth every blink of my tired eyes today! I just couldn’t put this story down! This entire series is a page-turning delight, every book is better than the last! Not one story slowed, they just built on top of the last, culminating in this final, masterpiece of a grand finale that I didn’t want to end!

Each of these three sisters holds her own, with her own special gifts, and challenges. But if I had to pick a favorite, I’d have to go with Emmeline. Her courage to stand tall and face the unknown is a reminder that true courage isn’t about feeling brave, it’s facing your fears, knowing that God is always with you.

Filled with action, adventure, and wonderfully dynamic characters that at once had me holding my breath and turning pages to see what would happen next! I really enjoyed watching this unexpected love grow between, Rex and Emma. A love that started out as a conscious choice, and a promise. A love that grew as the story progressed. A beautiful reminder that true love is sacrificial, and wants what is best for the other person.

Be sure to grab this superb Lost Princesses series! You will want to add these stories to your personal library to not only share with your friends but to read and enjoy it again!

Foremost (The Lost Princesses #2) by Jody Hedlund

A second princess. Another key to the treasure. And a cruel king desperate to squelch the growing rebellion.

Synopsis:

Raised in an isolated abbey, Lady Maribel desires nothing more than to become a nun and continue practicing her healing arts. She’s carefree and happy with her life…until a visitor comes to the abbey and reveals her true identity as one of the lost princesses.

When he was a young boy, Edmund Chambers helplessly watched King Ethelwulf murder his family. Edmund escaped and has lived in the abbey ever since, uniquely trained to work with wild animals. Secretly, he loves Maribel and desperately hopes she doesn’t complete her holy order vows.

When King Ethelwulf’s army arrives at the abbey to capture Maribel, she flees with Edmund across the desolate Highlands in an attempt to reach Adelaide’s rebel army. Edmund can no longer hide his love, but can Maribel give up her dreams of becoming a nun to love him in return?

My Thoughts:

I absolutely loved reading this story, and I didn’t want it to end. I’m so very glad that the next book in this series will be coming out soon and I have another book to look forward to reading. Engaging and fast-paced, these stories fairly leap off the page!

Sword fights, a secret treasure, a dangerous labyrinth with hidden traps and a hungry monster, a dashing hero, and a daring heroine. This story has something for everyone!  Whether you are young or young at heart, if you delight in well-told, stories of adventure and love then look no further!

The characters learn and grow along the way. They discover that the plans they had for themselves are pale in comparison with the perfect plan that God has for their lives. They learned that it is important to wait on God and not rush ahead. A lesson we can all learn!

This series just keeps getting better and better. I can’t wait to read Emmaline’s story! Do yourself a favor and snatch this book up as soon as possible!

Yet Brithwin’s wise and kind nature begin to break down the walls of his heart, and he soon finds himself in a race to discover who is behind the evil plot before Brithwin is the next victim.

Sword of Forgiveness (winds of change #1)

My Thoughts:

The first time I read this book was a couple months after it first came out in 2015. I can’t recall now just how I stumbled across it, but I can tell you that I loved it! Fast forward to 2019 and I was given the opportunity to sign-up with Celebrate Lit Tours to share my thoughts on this wonderful story.  Yes, I of course happily read the story again and I enjoyed it as much the second time.

I enjoyed the suspense, the tender romance, and the character intrigue. The story moves along at a good pace and kept me turning pages well past my normal bedtime. The imperfect characters were relatable and the setting in the northern borderlands of England made for an engaging setting.

I encourage you to pick this story up, especially if you are looking for a medieval period story to lose yourself in. I give this story 4 stars and I hope that you get the opportunity to enjoy reading it for yourself also!

Evermore (The Lost Princesses #1) by Jody Hedlund

Synopsis:

An ancient key. A secret treasure. And a princess destined to use them both to fight evil and restore peace.

Raised by a noble family, Lady Adelaide has always known she’s an orphan. Little does she realize she’s one of the lost princesses and the true heir to Mercia’s throne…until a visitor arrives at her family estate, reveals her birthright as queen, and thrusts her into a quest for the throne whether she’s ready or not.

Unable to tolerate King Ethelwulf’s cruelty and lawlessness, Christopher Langley left Mercia years earlier, training a group of rebels in neighboring Norland. When he returns home after his mother’s death, he discovers that not only is Adelaide all grown up, but she’s also the rightful queen of Mercia.

When King Ethelwulf discovers Adelaide’s location, he’ll stop at nothing to capture her and the key she holds to the ancient treasure. Christopher is just as determined to protect Adelaide so she can lead the growing rebellion. When feelings ignite between the two old friends, forces threaten to destroy their love and rip them apart forever.

My Thoughts:

I am loving this new series from Jody Hedlund! The story is captivating, the characters are dynamic and endearing. First of all, let me say that you will want to make sure to read Always (The Lost Princesses 0.5) before picking up this story. As the stories build on each other.  Always is a pure delight. A stunning, fast-paced story that you don’t want to miss. But let’s return to talking about Evermore!

This story is written in the first-person narrative that shifts between the two main characters. It really invites the reader behind the curtain and offers an intimate, personable view of what is going on in the mind of the characters. The story fairly leaped off the page an into my imagination and I was along for the blissful ride!

Lady Adelaide is a force to be reckoned with. She is tough, yet tender. Fostered by Sir Langley and his wife Lady Susanna and raised with their three boys, she isn’t afraid to ride faster and swing a sword against a foe. Adelaide isn’t afraid to face difficult challenges and she takes time to pray and ask God for wisdom before making decisions. She has a big heart for others and wants to help those less fortunate. She isn’t perfect, but she learns from her mistakes and grows.

I loved all the characters in this book!! The plot twists, the narrow escapes, and so much more! Trust me you won’t want to miss out on a moment of this exciting story. I can’t wait to read more and see which sister is the focus on the next story!

About the Author:

SherrindaKetchersid From an early age, books have been a part of my life. Trips to the library were a grand adventure where new worlds opened and new journeys began. My dream has been to weave stories that will bring as much joy to my readers as books have brought to me.

The road to publication is a wild ride and I’m relishing every step. Writing historical romance is what I love to do, with medieval being my era of focus. There’s nothing I like better than a warrior hero who is made weak in the knees by a feisty heroine who has the strength to stand on her own. (sigh) My first book will be published by Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas in May 2019.

I’m the wife of a minister and mother of three sons and one daughter. When I’m not writing or dreaming of knights and their ladies, I can be found painting in my Bible, reading a variety of romances, and binging on Netflix. Thanks for stopping by!
