His Encouragement: Abundant Grace

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless.

For if by one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more
those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness
will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:17

Our God is the God of “do-overs,” second chances, fresh starts and new beginnings. And He doesn’t have any limit on how many you can have.

Because Jesus lives, we can live amazed by His great love for us. Even when at our worst, He choose to die for us so we could be made right with Him.

Ask Him today to help you grow closer to Him and to be changed by His word.

His Encouragement: Kindness

If it is possible, as much as depends on you,
live peaceably with all men.
Romans 12:18

We can’t protect ourselves from getting hurt by others, but we can control our response. Demonstrating kindness to our adversaries reminds us of our Heavenly Father’s kindness. We deserve death and separation from God, but He offers us eternal life through Jesus. Our Savior sacrificed himself for all humanity, providing a way for enemies to become allies.

His Encouragement: The power of words

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless.

Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,
Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.
Proverbs 16:24

Our words have the power to lift up or to destroy. Take a moment to think about how you communicate. Do your words encourage others? Do your words nurture, nourish, and inspire your own children?

Whether words are written or spoken, they have the power to break and destroy healthy relationships. Let us accept the challenge presented in Ephesians 4:29 which states, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you;
not as the world gives do I give to you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27

One way we can pursue peace is to enjoy the moment. Discover something special each day, and take time to enjoy every moment this Christmas.

“Take heed that you do not despise one of these
little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels
always see the face of My Father who is in Heaven.”
Matthew 18:10

In the eyes of God, you are precious. His love for you is unconditional and everlasting. Learn to celebrate every gift that God has given you. You are blessed, and He is watching over you. Let the joy of the Lord fill your heart with love and laughter.

Last week our son was very sick, and we ended up taking him to the ER. Where we found out that he was in Diabetic Ketoacidosis. His pancreas had quit working and the sugar in his body just kept building up, overwhelming his system. They immediately put him on two IV’s one with insulin and the other with fluid as well as many monitors. Shocked and overwhelmed, we never saw it coming. The doctors told us that there wasn’t anything we could have done to prevent this. They say it is genetic, though there isn’t anyone on either side of our family that has type 1 diabetes.

We were in the hospital for 4 days getting his glucose stable and learning about Type 1 Diabetes. Its a steep learning curve, we are still learning! Through it all I prayed constantly and I kept reminding myself that God loves my son even more than I do. That God see’s my son and what is happening and that even though this awful thing has happened, God can make something beautiful out of this.

What ever trial you are going through, I pray that you remember that God loves you, and that God is watching over you.

The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
to all who call upon Him in truth.
Psalm 145:18

Bible verses that you memorize early in life are like seeds planted in the ground. Every time you read your Bible and pray, spiritual water helps you grow and develop into the person God intends you to be. Let the daily habit of coming to God in prayer be one of the first things you do. You will be blessed, and your Heavenly Father will be glorified.

“Heaven and earth will pass away,
but My words will by no means pass away.”
Mark 13:31

Your life will change when you accept that Jesus has all the answers. The Word of God is your pathway to happiness, peace, and contentment. The more you allow His Word to be part of your life, the happier you will be as a person. God’s Word is like building blocks that give you protection from the storms of life. Let each day be filled with a time for meditating on His Word.

His Encouragement: What does the Lord require of you?

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

He has shown you, O man what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you?
But to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8 (NKJV)

Here is something for you to think about and answer for yourself. Are we daily doing what the Lord requires of us? You don’t need to answer that question for me, answer it for yourself. Pray about it, talk to God. If there is an area in which you are struggling, ask God to help you!

His Encouragement: Nothing can separate

Welcome to His Encouragement. I have joined with some blogging friends to bring you a new Bible verse every Thursday, and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. We welcome you to join the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.

I pray that these Thursday posts become an encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless.

For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels
nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things
to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in
Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8: 38 & 39

In this time when separation is required of each of us for the safety of all of us, it is easy to feel profound loss, sadness, and loneliness. For some their emotional cup requires solitude for replenishing. For others, their emotional cup requires social engagement.

For those feeling empty due to the isolation, I want to take this moment to remind you that you are never truly alone. God is always with us. Sometimes we just get so busy in the daily tasks that we don’t take the time to seek Him and spend time with Him. It’s hard to hear His voice if you don’t know what it sounds like. Spending time with God daily and building that relationship is essential.

My encouragement for you today is two-fold:
One, a reminder that you are never alone. God is with you, He loves you, and nothing can separate you from Him.
Two, take this time to reconnect with God. Spend time reading His word. Spend time listening and or singing hymns and praise songs. Spend time in prayer!

If you need to talk to a person, reach out to family or a friend! You can do Bible study together via facetime, skype, or zoom. You don’t have to wait for a church service to worship God! I have discovered that my heart is happiest when I’m singing praises to God. Give it a try!

Please feel free to share with me ways that you are staying connected with others and with God.
