The Trouble With Love (Faith and Fortune #1) by Toni Shiloh

About this book:

I, Holiday Brown, have it all. A platinum record. Multi-million dollar home in Manhattan that I share with my two best friends. Life is looking fantastic until my roommate’s brother decides to bunk in our guestroom while his house gets renovated.

W. Emmett Bell has always been the bane of my existence. He’s annoying, stubborn, a know it all, and just might be the most gorgeous man I’ve ever laid eyes on. But I refuse to fall for him. Then his sister’s threatened by a stalker and dynamics change. His unwavering faith isn’t quite as self-righteous as I’d always thought, and maybe he has a good side I’ve overlooked all these years.

Or maybe it’s all too much trouble.

My Thoughts:

What a delightful story! This story has something for everyone! Romance, mystery, laugher, fun, and music. There were fun moments of laughter and heart-stopping moments of surprise where I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. But most of all the love of God was woven into this story.

Toni Shiloh writes characters that are so real you are almost certain that you could bump into them walking down the street. Authentic, charming, and witty. It was a pure pleasure to sink into this story and join these characters.

I eagerly look forward to reading more in this new series as I’m certain that more excitement, romance and mystery await!

A Life to Live by Toni Shiloh

Synopsis:

Mia is headed to the famed Nottingham for a month-long vacation. She never imagined she’d run into her high-school sweetheart thousands of miles away from her home town. Why would God throw them back together?

Caleb always regretted the way things ended with his high-school girlfriend, Mia. After a chance encounter in the streets of Nottingham, Caleb feels God is giving him a second chance to right the wrongs he committed. Unbeknownst to him, Mia has secrets that may require his forgiveness.
Will her past overshadow his wrongs?

As Mia and Caleb work through old hurts and broken hearts will they let the blessing of forgiveness redeem their relationship?

  A Life to Live

My Thoughts:

One of the many things I love about Toni Shiloh’s writing is how seamlessly she incorporates scripture into her writing. Her writing doesn’t come across as preaching, it simply flows out of the story. If you were to pull out all the Bible verses, the story would just fall flat.

These two main characters, Mia and Caleb are flawed, just like we all are. They have some hard lessons to learn. Shiloh invites us into the lives of these characters and I felt like I was right there in the story, walking through the events with close friends.

This book may be just over 100 pages, but it leaves a strong impression and gives us an important reminder of the importance of forgiveness. I highly recommend this fantastic story to anyone who enjoys reading sweet love stories, with a strong element of faith!

  Risking Love (Maple Run #4)

My Thoughts:

When it comes to a book written by Toni Shiloh, I don’t even need to read the back-cover copy. It’s a must buy! I know that I am in for a delightful story, one that I will live alongside the characters. A story that will not only linger in my memory but one that I will grow from as well. Risking Love checks all the boxes. I enjoyed my time with these friends and didn’t want it to end.

A trip to Maple Run with Toni Shiloh is always a delight! The characters in Toni Shiloh’s books are real, honest, people. They make mistakes, they have baggage that weighs them down. But regardless of past hurts and past mistakes, they learn and grow and they lean on God and press together with a community of God-fearing friends.

Risking Love can be read as a stand-alone, however, there are appearances from friends we have met in earlier books. Honestly, all of the stories are fantastic, so you might as well get them because you don’t want to miss out on knowing this delightful community of characters!

Deck The Shelves (Heartfalls Romance #1) by Toni Shiloh

Synopsis:

Kendall Jackson is the proud owner of Heartfalls’ bookstore, The Cozy Shelf. Her life is one straight out of the pages, except she’s missing that leading man. Although she has a crush on the handsome auto mechanic, Quinton Hendricks, Kendall wants an old-fashioned type of romance—the stuff swoon-worthy romance books are made of. But Quinton seems to need a little prodding.

Something about Kendall sparks hope in Quinton Hendricks that love could be his again. Only being abandoned by his ex-wife has made him cautious to the point of non-moving.

Can two people hesitant on second chances find love as they Deck the Shelves?

My Thoughts:

Toni Shiloh brings the sleepy town of Heartfalls, New York vibrantly to life inside this bookishly delightful Christmas Novella. Step into the Cozy Shelf bookstore and meet our heroine, Kendall Jackson. Be sure to grab a hot drink from the hospitality table, and take your time browsing the wide array of books.

Kendall finds enjoyment getting lost in the pages of a good book. She enjoys reading to the children when they come in for story time and the cozy community within the warm walls of the bookstore. Sparks fly when Quinton Hendricks visits, but often Kendall is too shy to talk to him beyond a few words. Her friends suggest dropping a note inside his bag the next time he stops in and purchases a book.

After being abandoned by his x-wife only months after the birth of their son, Quinton Hendricks is cautious about forming an attachment to the beautiful bookstore owner. But he can’t seem to stop his racing heart and tangled emotions whenever she is near.

With strong threads of faith and the reminder that God will lead us to his perfect plan in our lives if we let go of our fears and trust Him. This heartwarming Christmas Novella is sure to not only put a smile on your face but get you into the Christmas mood.

(I purchased a copy of this book for my personal collection.)
